Albums

Toto's discography consists of 13 studio albums as well as 4 live albums. There are also compilations. In addition to the release of original music, Toto has also done work with other artists and on soundtracks for films. The band has received multiple Grammy Awards.

Before Toto was formed the members of the group performed session work for other musicians. Drummer Jeff Porcaro, bassist David Hungate, and keyboardist David Paich (the son of session drummer Marty Paich and brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro) played on Boz Scaggs album from 1975 Silk Degrees. Toto was formed in the year 1976 in the wake of the collaboration.

The band selected guitarist Steve Lukather, and recorded Fahrenheit in 1986.

Toto released Toto XX in 1998 to mark its 20th anniversary. The group went through old recordings and tapes to create the unique record. The album was a hit by fans and the band went on a tour featuring former members Bobby Kimball, Steve Porcaro, and Joseph Williams.

During the tour for the album 40 Trips Around the Sun The drummer Leland Sklar quit the group and was replaced by Shem von Schroeck. In the year 2017, Toto released the double-CD set Falling in Between. It included live recordings from the tour as well as an interview with the group.
